A Visit from Flat Stanley

Mrs. Solis's Class
Daniels Elementary
Grand Prairie, TX

Hi! Flat Stanley here, reporting from the Kerrs' house in Indiana. I arrived here about a week ago. When I arrived, it was a work day for Andy, so he took me with him. He works on a computer all day. He has THREE screens side by side, and he works with them all at the same time. I guess he likes his job a lot.

I helped get a a CD unstuck from one computer. Flat arms sure are handy!

When it was time to go home, he said I could ride with him on his motorcycle. I checked my things to see if I had a helmet. I had a few sandwiches left, some fun things to play with in case I got bored, and some clothes, but no helmet. Andy told me that it was OK, he could help me out. I don't know where he got them, but he gave me a brand new helmet, and my own motorcycle jacket!!

After a great motorcycle ride, I went to meet the rest of the family. When I saw that they had a baby, I was worried at first. But then I noticed that she didn't know how to walk yet, or even crawl. All she did was sit around and look cute. I made sure to stay away from her so she couldn't drool on me.

They had two other kids, though, and they were fun to play with. Here I am riding in a wagon up and down the front sidewalk with Fiona and Aiden.

It turned out that I was there for an amazing bike race! The race was on Sunday, and the racers went round and round our block, right by the house. There was a lot of prize money involved, so there were some pretty good racers who went really fast. To cheer them on and make them ride even faster, we all rang cow bells whenever they passed.

Later, they let me stay up past my bedtime and have an ice-cream float. I don't think I could have gone to sleep anyway because my mind was full of all the fun adventures I had in Indiana.

P.S. Oh and by the way, they asked me why I only have one eyebrow. DO I only have one eyebrow? I never even noticed! Huh. Why IS it that I only have one eyebrow?

My envelope back to Texas leaves tomorrow. I'll be back to see you soon!
