If the Mesopotamians Made a Music Video... would definitely be this one. I work with these characters (Sargon, Gilgamesh, et al.) on an almost daily basis.

Oh, and, the tune may get stuck in your head. You've been warned.

Another artist in the family

The other day, Fiona was busy scribbling away on a piece of paper. I asked her what she was doing. "I'm drawing a fish!" I smiled at her, expecting her to bring me over a 30-second drawing. Several minutes later, she handed me this:

It took me a moment to catch on. At first it looked like a blob of scribbles, and then it started looking rather familiar. I walked over to the fishtank.

Things I've learned from having kids...

#56,342. You can disable an entire piano with a single popsicle stick.

On the bright side, it was a good excuse to clear off all the junk that had been accumulating up there. The piano works fine now.

Not Your Average Bear

We made cookies. It was all very straightforward until we got to the part about decorating them...

But how do you pronounce it?

I regularly joke that you've lived in our county long enough when you can correctly spell Koscuisko (pronounced "kozzy-oscoh") without looking it up. Now that I've driven through this town, however, I wonder if you've lived there long enough when you can pronounce the name!

I did Google the name, and the only other result I found was someone else photographing the same tower and wondering how it was pronounced. Really.
