Today I opened my kitchen cupboards and discovered that my father-in-law had cut the rims off of all the kids' plastic cups. It is not immediately evident why he did this. In the meantime, I guess we'll have to live with circumcised kiddie cups.

what part of the cups are the rims?
I also forgot to ask how long they (my parents)are staying there for.
Well, the rim (or brim, as some people refer to it) is about the only part you could remove from a cup and still have it work as a cup. Basically, it's the top edge. In this case, it was a thicker bit of plastic that helped keep the cup strong.
They left on Monday to go back to New Hampshire.
